Soil type, previous crops, rainfall
totals, weed levels and application methods are just a few
of the many interacting factors that need to be considered
when making decisions about how to manage your crop's
nutrition.
This module focuses on information that
will help you make profitable and sustainable nutrient
decisions.
Unit 3.1 starts with an overview of the
many factors that will influence your nutrient decisions,
examines how to use soil tests to guide nutrient decisions
and outlines the 10 macro nutrients required by plants.
Unit 3.2 introduces the concept of soil
acidity and the role of liming,
Units 3.3 through 3.7 focus on the major
nutrients of phosphor, potassium, sulphur, nitrogen and
the role trace elements in plant growth.
Unit 3.8 looks at the role of water
storage and nutrients, including discussions of soil water
