6.5 What Is Tramlining?

Click for larger imageThe creation of a single track with each pass of the seeder, resulting in a pair of tracks on which the boom spray is operated. The spray boom is double the width of the seeder Generally operations run up the paddock and back, not round and round. Seeders with two marker arms make the positioning of the tracks more accurate.

  • Reduced reliance on foam markers

  • Sprays accurately applied in poor light conditions

  • Reduced operator fatigue when spraying
